NCPF ANNUAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2019 (Posted Feb 2019)

On Sunday 25 February the big spectator event of the year was held at Clara Vale, the NCPF Annual Club Championship. This is when all the NCPF clubs are entitled to compete in both PDIs and Prints with top two clubs in each discipline going forward to represent the NCPF in the PAGB National competitions. It is the opportunity, during the year, that members of NCPF clubs have to see instant judging in operation. The PDIs were won by Keswick PS with Northallerton CC second. The Prints were also won by Keswick but with Durham PS second. Whitley Bay finished twelfth in the PDIs, but were a creditable fourth in the prints. Our top scoing PDIs with 13 points were "Spectral" by Peter Craig, "Harsh History at Groverake" by Andrew Nicoll and "Aggression" by David Parkinson. Our top print with 14 points was "Hunting Cod" by Ray McIver, with "Nature's Fortress" by Andrew Nicoll and "Kestral" by Peter Craig both scoring 13 points.

NCPF NORTH TYNE AREA PDI COMPETITION 2019 (Posted March 2019)

The North Tyne Area PDI Competition was hosted by Whitley Bay PS at North Shields. The Judge was Dave Phillips of Hartlepool. Whitley Bay won with 221 points ahead of Gosforth (217pts), Ponteland and Tynemouth (213pts), Cramlington and North Shields (210pts), Wallsend (203pts). Andrew Nicoll of Whitley Bay won the best PDI award with Dawn Over Salina.

5 CLUB COMPETITION 2019 (Posted Feb 2019)

Cramlington won the 5 Club Competition held at Wallsend. Whitley Bay were fourth.

NORTH TYNE SUCCESS FOR WBPS (Posted Nov 2018)

Whitley Bay P.S. were victorious in the N.C.P.F. North Tyne Print Interclub Competition held at North Shields on 27 November. The competition which was hosted by Whitley Bay club was judged by David Ord. He commented on the high overall standard of the prints in the competition. All seven North Tyne clubs entered the competition. Whitley Bay scored 219 points. Second were Gosforth with 215 and third were North Shields with 210. Joan Shepherd of Gosforth won the award for best individual print in the contest with "Buffalo at Waterhole, Night-time".

CLUB OUTING (NEWCASTLE) (Posted Nov 2018)

NORTH TYNE SUCCESS FOR RICHARD (Posted March 2018)

Richard Narcross was awarded Best Individual Image for "Bucking Bronco" in the N.C.P.F. North Tyne Interclub Competition at North Shields on 27 March. North Shields and Tynemouth tied for first place in the club competition with 208 points each. Next were Gosforth (207 pts), Ponteland (206 pts) and Cramlington and Whitley Bay (205 pts each). The Judge was Jim Welsh of Blyth.

NATIONAL SUCCESS FOR ANDREW (Posted Feb 2018)

Andrew Nicoll was one of only three NCPF photographers to achieve success in the PAGB Masters of Print Exhibition. The others were Roy Elwood (Whickham PC) and Joe Grabham (Durham PS). All three attended the opening ceremony at the R.K. Burt Gallery in Southwark on London’s South Bank. Andrew's picture was "Sea Power" (shown below).
