ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2017 (Posted April 2017)

The A.G.M. was held on 25 April. Brian Tunnard took over from Jeff Evans as President. Brian thanked Jeff for the way he had led the club during his two year term as President.

The Competition Trophies were presented to the season's winners. Unfortunately some of the recipients were unable to be present to receive their trophies.

VICTORY FOR RAY IN NCPF ANNUAL COMPETITONS (Posted April 2017)

Ray McIver won the award for Best Beginners Print in the NCPF Annual Competitions with "Cold Convergence". He also gained a Highly Commended with "Pipeline Perspective". In the Beginners PDI competition Ray gained two Highly Commended awards with "Leaky Arch" and "Subtle Tones".

There were Highly Commended awards in the Open Mono Prints competition for Peter Craig with "Storm Surge 3" and Richard Narcross with "Underpass" and in the PDI competition for Peter Craig with "Storm Surge 2" and Richard Narcross for "Mo Does it Again".

Peter Craig had two pictures accepted to represent the NCPF at the PAGB National competition.

Jeff Evans, Richard Narcross and Alan Clark had pictures selected to go into the NCPF Portfolio to tour the clubs.

Whitley Bay finished finished second in the North Tyne PDI Interclub Competition. They were just one point behind winners Tynemouth, with Gosforth third The top scoring image was Tynemouth Spray by Andrew Nicoll which gained 30 points. The judge was Malcolm Blenkey ARPS of Saltburn.

Unfortunately Joe Grabham who was due to give a talk on 11 April is unable to attend due to ill health. The evening will now be a "Member's Favourite Images" evening. Members can bring up to 6 of their favourite images and give a short presentation.

The Annual Club Championships were held at Clara Vale on 12th February. The PDI event was won by Keswick with 252pts. Durham was second with 243 and Northallerton third with 233. Whitley Bay scored 220. Andrew Nicoll’s image “Brief Glimpse” was one of the pictures scoring the maximum 15pts. Keswick also won the Prints with 244pts. There was a four way tie on 225pts for second between Durham, Gosforth, Northallerton and Saltburn. Gosforth gained second when the tie break formula was applied. Whitley Bay scored 223pts.

Whitley Bay finished joint first with Cambois in the 5 Club Competition held at Cramlington on 9th February and judged by Dave Phillips of Hartlepool. The two top scoring WBPS images were Tynemouth Spray by Andrew Nicoll and Common Frog by Richard Narcross which both gained 29 points.

The N.C.P.F. North Tyne Area Print Competition was held at North Shields on the 29 November with David Hall as the Judge.  Tynemouth won the competition with 216 points with Gosforth second (210 points) and Cramlington third (207 points).  Jeff Evans of Whitley Bay won the Individual Award with “Ring to Enter”.
